You Don’t Need to Be an 'Adventurer' to Join an Adventure!
Updated: 5 days ago

'I’d love to do that… but I’m not really an adventurer.'
If we had a dollar for every time we’ve heard those words, we’d probably be sipping cocktails somewhere tropical right now.
Here’s the thing:
You don’t need to be an adventurer to join an adventure.
You don’t need to be super fit, have years of hiking experience, know how to read a map or pitch a tent in the dark.
And you definitely don’t need to own a pair of khaki pants or binoculars.
You just need curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Adventure looks different for everyone
For one woman, adventure might be a challenging multi-day hike. For another, it might be getting into a kayak for the first time. For someone else, it could be joining a Friday morning walk without knowing anyone.
Sometimes, adventure is simply doing something that makes you slightly nervous — not terrified or wildly outside your comfort zone, just enough to think:
“Hmmmm… I’ve never done that before.”
That’s where the magic happens.
You don’t have to be the fittest woman on the trail
Women often tell us:
“I’m not fit enough."
“Everyone else will be faster than me.”
"I haven’t done anything like this before.”
"I’m worried I’ll hold everyone up.”
We get it.
But WEA adventures aren’t about racing to the finish line. We walk together, stop for views, chat, take photos, eat snacks and laugh. Sometimes we even get distracted by dolphins, wombats, spectacular scenery or the promise of coffee.
The goal is to enjoy the journey.
There’s something powerful about being outside together
One of the best things about adventure with WEA is the women you meet along the way.
Women from different backgrounds, ages and stages of life who might never have crossed paths otherwise. You spend a few hours, a day, a weekend or even a couple of weeks sharing experiences, swapping stories and cheering each other on.

Suddenly, you’re not just walking a trail.
You’re part of something.
We’ve watched women arrive as strangers and leave as friends. We’ve seen them surprise themselves with what they’re capable of and later encourage someone else who is joining their first adventure.
Adventure has a habit of growing.
Maybe your next adventure is smaller than you think
You don’t have to book an expedition to the Arctic, climb a mountain or completely reinvent yourself.
Your next adventure might simply be:
Saying yes to a walk you’ve never done before.
Trying a trail outside your usual routine
Getting into a kayak
Travelling somewhere you’ve always wanted to explore
Joining a group where you don’t know anyone
Trying something you once thought wasn’t “for you”
Adventure isn’t about how far you go.
It’s about being willing to go.
So, are you an adventurer?
Maybe you are. Maybe you just haven’t realised it yet.
At Women Embrace Adventure, we believe adventure is for every woman who is curious enough to say yes.
Come as you are. Bring your sense of humour, curiosity and willingness to give it a go. We’ll take care of the rest.
You just need to take the first step.
And who knows where it might lead?
We hope to see you on an adventure soon,
Sharon, Katrina and the WEA Team of Ledgends
