Hikes:

Saturday is all about distance and time on legs. We will walk both the Green and Yellow tracks with a couple of side trips to check out some caves along the way. Although easy to moderate walking it will be a long day with about 13 - 15kms of walking. The Yellow and Green tracks are like the tasting plate of Bungonia National Park. The walks offer an overview of the park by taking in all the main lookouts, a creek crossing (a great place for a dip) and natural environments. It’s a moderately easy hike, so we will pack our lunch and stop at one of the beautiful lookouts along the way.

Sunday we get into some more technical and hard graded (4/5)  hiking - the white track. Although we will only be walking approx 6kms today it is considered to be a HARD track and needs a high level of fitness to complete. The white track is an out-and-back trail so remember what goes down must come back up. We will start off early and make our way down to the Shoalhaven River, a perfect place for a snack and a swim and take some time to recover and explore before we head back the way we came. It will be tough going in parts but it will be so worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I need to be?

We recommend a moderately high to high fitness level to participate in this weekend. We hike approx. 21km all up - 15 km on Saturday (grade 3 easy to moderate hikes) and 6kms on Sunday (grade 5 hard hike).

Not sure this adventure is for you? Drop us an email at info@womenembracedventure.com.au; we'll happily give you a call to discuss.

Do I need experience?

We recommend previous hiking experience for this adventure.  You will need a moderate/high fitness level because of the distance covered and the type of terrain we will be covering. We understand that even with high fitness levels everyone hikes at different paces. Please know there are always at least two guides on each walk - this means there is no rush and you can hike at your own pace.

I'm not sure camping is for me. Well, how does this sound?

  • Your WEA hosts will prepare all of your delicious meals for you
  • Pre-dinner nibbles and maybe a drink or two under the starry sky
  • Your own tent so you have your own space over the weekend
  • Hot showers and flush toilets close by (yes, this is a big selling point!)
  • Parking at the campsite
  • Beautiful night skies and gorgeous scenery

How many women will be on my adventure?

We like to keep things relatively small and intimate at WEA to offer you a supportive and friendly environment. We have a maximum capacity of 10 for this adventure plus your WEA guides and hosts.

I'll be coming on my own, is that ok?

Not a problem at all!  Lots of women come on their own to our adventures. Your Women Embrace Adventure hosts will make sure everyone is welcomed with open arms and introduced to everyone on the trip. We always have lots of fun; there's no pressure, no judgment, and lots of encouragement from everyone. By the end of the weekend, you may have just found some new adventure friends!

Are there showers and toilets at the Campground? Yes! Hot showers and flushing toilets are available.

Can bad weather conditions affect my adventure?

Wet weather will generally not cause the cancellation of a hiking tour. Wind and storms, on the other hand, can cause cancellations. If the wind is strong enough to be a potential safety risk, we will contact you in the days before the tour to discuss your options. If we cancel due to weather conditions, you are entitled to a full refund, or we can transfer your booking to a rescheduled date if that suits you.
