Why are we raising money for Mirror of Hope?Â
Part of our trip to Africa this year our amzing team of women will participate in a cultural immersion and explore the sights and sounds of Africa’s largest slum. Meet the life-changing Mirror of Hope (MOH), visit the home of one of the inspiring women MOH work with, meet her family and learn how to cook a delicious Kenyan feast. This is the perfect opportunity to immerse in Kenyan culture, practice your Swahili and get to know some of the most resilient and remarkable people on the planet.
Mirror of Hope was founded in 2010 by Tommy & Judy Nyawir, to empower vulnerable women & children living in the Kibera Slums. MOH achieves its mission through the implementation of a range of innovative health, education and entrepreneurship initiatives. We get to spend time with Tommy and Judy as we immerse ourselves in this unique and heartwarming experience.
Before our adventure, WEA and the Africa adventure team will be hosting a couple of fundraising events (this book club being one of them) to support women living in Kenya's largest slum, the Kibera Slums. This money will go towards supporting the incredible work that the Mirror of Hope does to empower vulnerable women. As part of our adventure, we'll meet these women, hear their stories and learn from each other in an immersive and connecting experience like no other.
If you would like to be part of the team and join our life-changing African adventure in September, please get in touch - we still have a couple of spots available and would love you to join us. Click here for all the amazing details!
