Women Embrace International Women's Day - Coastal Walk and Pizza Merewether

Beachside Newcastle in all its glory! The walk covers some of the most picturesque vistas in all of Australia - what better way to mark International Women's Day than with an outdoor stroll with like-minded ladies? Starting from the Merewether Surf house, we'll wander along Bathers Way to the Newcastle Memorial Walk. We'll take in the evening views at Strezleki Lookout and Kings Edward Park Lookout. On our return, we'll work up an appetite for some family-style pizza at the Beaches Hotel, where we'll toast to women everywhere. What a way to spend a Thursday evening!

Meeting Time: 5:45 pm 

Meeting point:  Merewether Beach - the exact meeting point will be sent to you in an email and text closer to the date. 

Distance/Terrain:  We'll walk approx 6-8km on formed paths over 1-1.5 hours. There are some hills and stairs. This trail is not handicapped accessible at this time, and pets are not permitted.

• WEA Wilderness First Aid trained, qualified hike guide
• A light meal of shared pizzas and a drink of your choice (wine, beer, soft drink) at the Beaches Hotel

FAQs:

How fit do I need to be? This walk covers approx 6-8km of moderate walking. There are some stairs, some hills, uneven levels of terrain, as well as some paved walkways and grasslands - it's got a bit of everything.  

If you're not sure about your fitness level, just give us a ring, and we're happy to have a chat and give you all the details. 

What do I need to wear/bring?

-joggers 

-bug spray

-any personal medications you may need (asthma puffer/epi-pen etc)

-waterproof jacket (in case of cold/ wet weather)

-an extra warm layer in case of cold/windy weather

-water bottle, at least a litre 

I'll be coming on my own, is that ok?  

Not a problem at all!  Lots of women come solo to our adventures. Your Women Embrace Adventure guide will introduce everyone before we set off on this beautiful walk. We always have lots of fun; there's no pressure, no judgment, and lots of encouragement from everyone.  By the end of the hike, you may have just found some new adventure friends.

Your booking is final once your payment is processed and a confirmation email is sent to you. No refunds will be given but you can ‘Pay it Forward’ (your spot can be transferred to another lady over the age of 18). Please email us at least 24 hours before the adventure and provide her contact details. This is an all-weather event. If cancelled by Women Embrace Adventure a credit or full refund will be provided.

This is a women's only adventure. Valid for sale until sold out. Advertised prices are per person. Prices are correct as of  7 February 2024  and are subject to availability, withdrawal and change at any time without notice due to fluctuations in charges and currency.

All current government safety and health guidelines at the time of booking and departure must be adhered to, including all Covid-19 requirements. Any additional costs related to but not limited to government travel restrictions are the responsibility of the individual traveller and not Women Embrace Adventure. If this trip is undersubscribed or in circumstances where external events affect the viability or safety of this trip to go ahead, Women Embrace Adventure reserves the right to cancel or reschedule and to exclude/remove any participants from this trip.
