The Larapinta Trail, arguably one of the best desert trails in the world, explores Tjoritja or the West MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia. Hike across snaking riverbanks, open desert plains and towering mountains on this six day adventure. Cool off in bright green swimming holes, discover the Indigenous history of the area and hike across peaks scattered with diverse flora and fauna. Take in sights like Ormiston Gorge and ascend to the top of Mt Sonder. Take a moment to appreciate the vast red desert surrounds and weeping ghost gums and end the days camping under a blanket of stars. 

National Geographic voted the Larapinta Trail as one of the top 20 trekking experiences on the planet, and this ancient landscape boasts some of the most majestic ridges in the Northern Territory. Throughout the trail, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of Mt Sonder, the highest point on Larapinta.

With 10-15 km of grade 4 and grade 5 trail covered each day, this women's small group tour of Australia’s ancient landscape is on many bucket lists. Stunning sights like Serpentine Gorge and Ormiston Pound Walk are just a couple of the many 'WOW' moments on this adventure.

Adventure Overview:

Tour Length: 6 Day/5 Nights

Start and finish Location: Alice Springs, Northern Territory

Grade: Moderate – Hard 4/5 Suitable for experienced bushwalkers/hikers with a moderate to high fitness level 

Accommodation: 3 nights of comfortable base camping while on the track + 2 nights at Mercure Hotel Alice Springs

Group size: 10 women plus your WEA hosts and guides

Distance Walked: approx 50 km over 4 days

• 5 nights Accommodation: 3 nights comfortable camping + 2 nights hotel accommodation in Alice Springs
• Spend 3 nights at a beautiful private and permanent campsite on indigenous land
