Women Embrace Hiking Awaba Bay, Marmong Lake Macquarie, NSW

How beautiful is Lake Macquarie?! You'll certainly find out on this early morning walk around its shores from Marmong Point, through the bush along the water's edge towards Bolton Point. The views are stunning and by going early, we'll beat the heat of the day. This hike is a women’s only guided hike along the Awaba Bay walking track from Marmong Point to Bolton Point. 

About the Hike: The walk is an approx 8 km guided walk along the waterfront into Lake Macquarie Conservation area at Bolton Point. The walk starts on the waterfront path, winds through the bush, onto the boardwalks, up a few hills and a few stairs. You can expect lots of birdlife and beautiful Lake Macquarie vistas. The serene bushwalk through towering trees gives you the feeling you’re a million miles away from the suburbs, though it’s not far at all. This is a moderate level 3 walk. 

Details:

Meeting Time: 6:45 am for a 7:00 am start

Meeting point: Marmong Point, NSW- The exact meeting point will be sent to you in an email and text closer to the date. 

Maximum Numbers: 10, including your WEA guides

Fitness Level: A moderate level of fitness is required 

Experience: No experience needed

Grade: 3 This hike has it all, paved paths, some stairs, uneven ground, a few hills and stunning views!

Length: The walk is approximately 8 km in length and will take us approximately 3 hours, including our break for morning tea

Cost: $55

Inclusions: 

• Parks Licencing and fees
• Wilderness First Aid qualified leaders
• Morning tea, including hot drinks/cold and home-baked goodies (we cater to most dietary requirements, let us know when you book)
• Photos of your adventure will be posted on our Facebook event page for you

What do I need to bring/wear?

-day pack (to carry your personal belongings)

-hiking boots, sturdy joggers or trail runners

-hat

-sunscreen and sun protective clothing

-bug spray

-any personal medications you may need (asthma puffer/epi-pen etc)

-waterproof jacket (in case of wet weather)

-at least 1 litre of water 

-hiking poles (optional)

I'll be coming on my own, is that ok?  

Not a problem at all!  Lots of women come on their own to our adventures. Your Women Embrace Adventure host will ensure everyone is introduced before we begin this beautiful hike. We always have lots of fun; there is no pressure, no judgment, and lots of encouragement from everyone.  By the end of the hike, you may have just found some new adventure friends!
