About The Adventure

Join us to explore Munmorah State Conservation Area on our Women Embrace Munmorah Coastal Walk! On this 9 km walk we’ll pass through bushland heath, eucalyptus forest, over fire trails and across some of the whitest sandy pristine beaches. A big highlight is the Wybung Trig Lookout with views all the way back to Newcastle, down to Norah Head and beyond. We’ll see lots of beautiful flora and (hopefully) fauna and we might just spot a few whales with their babies while we enjoy our delicious morning tea at the beach! We hope you can join us.

Date: Saturday July 17th, 2021

Meeting Time:  7:45 am for 8:00am start

Meeting Point: Munmorah State Conservation Area, Wybung, NSW-exact meeting location will be sent to you in the confirmation email

Fitness Level: A moderate level of fitness is required 

Experience: no experience needed but you must have a moderate level of fitness and be confident in walking approx 9 kms

About the Walk: This hike is rated level 3 but does includes a few hills, some uneven ground, stairs, beach walking and will take about 3.5 hours so you will need a moderate level of fitness to comfortably complete the 9 kms. No one gets left behind on our adventures, we walk at your pace and always have two WEA Guides, one at the front of the pack and one at the end to make sure everyone is safe and supported.

Inclusions: 

  • Eco Pass, Parks Licencing and fees, full insurance coverage
  • Wilderness first aid qualified leader
  • Morning tea including home baked goods at the mid way mark  (we can cater for dietary requirements so please let us know at time of registration) 
  • Photos of your adventure that will be posted on out facebook event page for you

How fit do I need to be? This bush walk covers easy to moderate levels of terrain, most of it is flat and paved but there are a few moderate hills, some uneven ground and stairs so we recommend having a moderate level of fitness so you can enjoy your surroundings.  No one gets left behind, with two Women Embrace Adventure guides at this event we will have one at the front and one at the end to support all walkers.  This trail is not handicapped accessible and not pet-friendly.

What do I need to bring?

-day pack (to carry your personal belongings)

-wear hiking boots, sturdy joggers or trail runners

-sunscreen and sun protective clothing

-hat

-bug spray

-any personal medications you may need (asthma puffer/epi-pen etc)

-waterproof jacket (in case of cold/ wet weather)

-an extra warm layer in case of cold/windy weather

-at least 2 litres of water 

-Bring your swimmers if your keen for a dip in the ocean at the half way/morning tea point, but please note it is not a protrolled beach. Change rooms, toilets/showers are available.

I'll be coming on my own, is that ok?  

Not a problem at all!  Lots of women come on their own to our adventures. Your Women Embrace Adventure host will make sure everyone is introduced before we set off on our walk. We always have lots of fun, there is no pressure, no judgment, and lots of encouragement from everyone. By the end of the walk you may have just found some new adventure friends!

How many will be on our bushwalk?  We keep our adventures quite personal. On this adventure there will be no more than 12 women your plus your WEA guides.
