Women Embrace Coastal Walk and Lunch Merewether

Beachside Newcastle in all its glory! The walk covers some of the most picturesque vistas in all of Australia; starting from the Merewether Surf house we'll wander along the Newcastle Memorial Walk, cross the stunning Anzac Bridge, and check out Strezleki Lookout on the way down to Kings Edwards Park's beautiful Rotunda and gardens. We'll share a homemade morning tea along the way and work up an appetite for our Lunch on the Surf House Bar Deck. What a way to spend a Thursday!

About our Adventure

Details:

Date: Thursday, November 10th 2022

Meeting Time: 9:30 am 

Meeting point:  Merewether Surf House- the exact meeting point will be sent to you in an email and text closer to the date. 

Maximum Numbers: 10 plus your WEA guides 

Distance/Terrain:  We'll walk approx 10 km on formed paths over 3 hours. There are some hills and stairs. This trail is not handicapped accessible at this time and pets are not permitted.

Fitness Level:  A moderate level of fitness is required for the distance covered

Experience: no experience is needed, but a moderate level of fitness is needed to enjoy the 10 km walk

Inclusions: 

• Wilderness First Aid trained, qualified hike guides x2
• Morning tea including home-baked goodies (we can cater for most dietary requirements so please let us know at the time of booking) 
• Lunch and a drink of your choice (wine, beer, soft drink) at the Merewether Surf House Bar Deck
• Photos of your adventure will be posted on the FB Event for you

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

How fit do I need to be? This walk covers approx 10 km of moderate walking there are some stairs, some hills, uneven levels of terrain as well as some paved walkways and grasslands - it's got a bit of everything.  

If you're not sure about your fitness level, just give us a ring, and we're happy to have a chat and give you all the details. 

What do I need to wear/bring?

-small day pack (to carry your personal belongings)

-joggers 

-sun hat

-sunscreen and sun protective clothing

-bug spray

-any personal medications you may need (asthma puffer/epi-pen etc)

-waterproof jacket (in case of cold/ wet weather)

-an extra warm layer in case of cold/windy weather

-water bottle, at least a litre 

I'll be coming on my own, is that ok?  

Not a problem at all!  Lots of women come on their own to our adventures. Your Women Embrace Adventure guides will introduce everyone before we set off on this beautiful walk. We always have lots of fun, there's no pressure, no judgment, and lots of encouragement from everyone.  By the end of the hike, you may have just found some new adventure friends.

How many will be on our Hike?  We keep our adventures quite personal, there will be no more than 10 women plus your WEA guides.

By making a booking you agree to and accept our terms and conditions, including these Terms and Conditions, our Covid-19 Policy and the Waiver of Liability.

Your booking is final once your payment is processed and a confirmation email is sent to you. No refunds will be given but you can ‘Pay it Forward’ (your spot can be transferred to another lady over the age of 18). Please email us at least 24 hours before the adventure and provide her contact details. This is an all-weather event. If cancelled by Women Embrace Adventure a credit or full refund will be provided.

This is a women's only adventure. Valid for sale until sold out. Advertised prices are per person. Prices are correct as of  6 October 2022  and are subject to availability, withdrawal and change at any time without notice due to fluctuations in charges and currency.

All current government safety and health guidelines at the time of booking and departure must be adhered to including all Covid-19 requirements. Any additional costs related to but not limited to government travel restrictions are the responsibility of the individual traveller and not Women Embrace Adventure. If this trip is undersubscribed or in circumstances where external events affect the viability or safety of this trip to go ahead, Women Embrace Adventure reserves the right to cancel or reschedule and to exclude/remove any participants from this trip.
