Mums and Kids Abseiling Half Day Adventure - Watagans

This school holiday special event is for mums and their kids. Bring your kids and show them your adventurous side as you abseil together down cliffs varying from 8-25 meters at the beautiful Monkey face Lookout in the Watagans.

During this Mums and Kids session you will be introduced to both equipment and techniques that make it safe yet still challenging. We focus on promoting good technique and confidence on small sections of cliff before gradually increasing the height and raising the challenge! 

Never Abseiled before? Not a problem, our qualified abseiling guide will provide all the instruction you need to get started and have really have a good time doing it. This Abseiling Adventure is a fab way to enjoy the great outdoors, get active and have some fun with your kids as well as other super mums and their kids.

An Embrace Escapes Host and a qualified Abseiling guide will be there to provide support, encouragement and help you take a step outside of your comfort zone. They’ll also ensure you have a great time and provide a relaxed and fun experience for everyone. All safety gear, equipment and instruction is provided.

Time:  8:30 am for a 9am start - Finish 12:30pm

Meeting Place: Cnr Mount Faulk Road and Freemans Drive, Cooranbong, we will meet you there!

Cost:  $99 per adult and $65 per child (12 years and over)

What to bring: 

• Active wear suitable for outdoor activity  

• Hat: preferably with a brim

• Jacket if cool

• Joggers

• Reading glasses if needed (we will give you a health history to fill out before we start) 

• Water bottle

• Sunscreen and bug protection

• Any personal medication that may be needed (e.g. asthma puffer) 

FAQs 

How fit do I need to be? 

Moderately fit but fitness is not a huge issue with abseiling at this level. If you can walk around the shops…. you can do beginner Abseiling. This half-day adventure is around 3 hours in duration. Our attitude is that it's your day, and work with you at a level YOU are comfortable with, and have rest stops as often as YOU like. As with any physical activity, always discuss anything new with your GP.


Do I need experience? 

Definitely not! Our guide will give a comprehensive briefing before the tour on equipment use, safety and what to expect while on the tour. We also offer tips to improve your technique to make things easier and more enjoyable for you while on the tour. 


How many Women and Children will be on my adventure? 

We like to keep things quite small and intimate at Embrace Escapes to offer you a supportive and friendly environment. On this experience there will be a maximum of 18 people (women and kids).

Is there an age limit for my child?

Yes, 12-18 years.

Will bad weather conditions affect my adventure? 

It could. Wet weather will generally not cause the cancellation of an abseiling adventure. If the weather is inclement enough to be a potential safety risk, we will contact you in the days before the adventure to discuss your options. *See t&c below

What if I am petrified of heights and freak out?

It happens and we are here to provide a supportive environment for you to just give it a go. Our Abseiling Guide is very adept at calming nerves and helping you to see exactly what you are capable of accomplishing. No judgement!


*Booking terms and Conditions: Payment for this abseiling adventure are final once you receive a confirmation email. No refunds will be given unless the trip is cancelled due to weather by Embrace Escapes, in which case full refund will be issued or the participant may elect to credit the booking amount to another tour date available. The booking is non-refundable but transferable, mums tickets can only be transferred to a female over 18 years of age and childs tickets to children who are over 12 and under the age of 18 years.
