About The Adventure
This Hike is a women’s only guided hike along the Wangi Wangi walking track in Wangi Wangi Conservation area with two Women Embrace Adventure hosts leading the way.
Meeting point:Â Wangi District Workers Club - exact meeting point will be sent to you in an email and text closer to the date.
About the Hike: The walk is an approx 10km guided walk along the waterfront walking into Lake Macquarie Conservation area at Wangi Point. Start walking on the waterfront walking path towards Wangi point. Take a peaceful bushwalk through towering forests to the shores of Lake Macquarie on Wangi circuit walking track, with wonderful scenic views of Pulbah Island, birdwatching and beautiful Lake Macquarie. The serene bushwalk through towering trees gives you the feeling you’re a million miles away from the suburbs, though it’s not far at all. This is an easy – moderate walk that includes walking on pathways, grass, bush tracks and road. The walk does include a few hills and bush steps along the way. We do recommend you have a moderate level of fitness to ensure it is an enjoyable walk for you as we are covering quite a distance. If in doubt, check with your doctor about your suitability. Your hosts are wilderness first aid qualified.
After the Hike:Â We will relax and restore with a lite morning tea picnic consisting of tea, coffee, cold drinks and of course Sharons famous baked goods.
Cost:Â $35 including guided hike followed by a lite morning tea. Payment due in full upon booking. Pay Pal or direct credit card accepted through our secure site. Â
I haven’t done this before, will I be fit enough? This hike covers easy to moderate levels of terrain, most is flat and paved but there are a few moderate hills and stairs so we recommend having a moderate level of fitness so you can enjoy your surroundings. No one gets left behind, with 2 guides we will have one at the front and one at the end to support all hikers. This trail is not handicapped accessible at this time and pets are not allowed in the Wangi Wangi Conservation Park.
Do I need to bring anything with me? Just make sure you wear a comfortable active wear, a pair of joggers or hiking boots, any personal medications you may need, a back pack to carry your personal belongings, wet weather jacket incase of rain, something warm as it does get cool by the lake at this time of year and bring along a water bottle with at least 2 litres of water and a hat and sunscreen. We'll bring some snacks, your morning tea and a first aid kit.
What if I don’t have anyone to go with? No problem at all, there are 2 Women Embrace Adventure hosts to make sure everyone is introduced before we set off. By the end of the Hike we are sure you would have found some new friends!
Booking terms and Conditions: Payment for Hikes are final once you receive a confirmation email.  No refunds will be given. This is an all weather event. For full T&C see our webpage.
