About The Adventure

Rainforest, waterfalls, babbling brooks, and maybe even a lyrebird or two, this hike is one of our all-time favourites!

Embark on the Gap Creek Falls Walk, a challenging yet rewarding journey in the Onley State Forest. We start our walk in the dry eucalypt forest, winding our way downhill through damp gullies of bluegum and rainforest to the bottom of one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the area. This short, sharp hike (all down and all up!), but the effort is well worth it to spend time at the bottom of the waterfall amongst the giant boulders along the creek.

Fun Fact:

Have you ever stood by a waterfall and suddenly felt your whole mood change? Your mind isn't tricking you; it’s a real physiological occurrence due to the effects of the negative ions that waterfalls create. Called the 'Waterfall Effect,' these negative ions are invisible little powerhouses, and we reap the benefits by breathing them in, benefiting our mind and body by giving us a feeling of being refreshed and revived. We can't make any promises about changing your mood, but being with a fantastic group of women near a waterfall might just make you feel fantastic!

We'll finish off with a picnic lunch and some home-baked goodies while watching for the ever-present Lyre Birds in the forest.

It sounds like a fantastic Friday to us!
