About The Adventure

About the Hike: This hike is a beautiful 10km walk from Berowra Train station to Kuring-gai Train Station. From the ridges above Cowan Creek, this walk takes in some great lookouts (especially around Mt Kuring-gai) as well as enjoying an extremely pleasant bush track along the creek. We will take the time to enjoy the many creek side rest areas along the way stopping to catch our breath and take in the beautiful scenery. This track is part of the Great North Walk and gives walkers a good taste of what Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park has to offer. We estimate the hike will take 4.5 - 6 hours in total, taking into consideration morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks as well as time to enjoy our surrounds.

Meeting point: Berowra train station, NSW. Meet us on the on Sunday the 24th March at 8:30am out the front of the station at the Berowra Train Station sign. Please note: Your WEA hosts will be catching the train down and back from Fassifern station and we would love you to join us. If you would like to train it with us please meet on platform 1 at Fassifern station at 6am to catch the 6:13am train. We will then catch the train from Mt Kuring-gai back to Fassifern on the way home, arriving home around 5:30pm (maybe later).

Cost: $80 includes WEA first aid qualified guide, lunch and snacks for morning tea and afternoon tea.

How fit do I need to be? This hike covers approx 10kms of moderate to hard levels of terrain. You will need a moderately high to high level of fitness to join us on this walk. If you are not sure if you are fit enough for the walk please contact us on info@womenembraceadventure.com.au and we will be happy to give you a call to discuss.

This trail is not handicapped accessible at this time and pets are not allowed.

Do I need to bring anything with me? Yes, please come prepared for a full day of hiking. You will need to wear a pair of hiking boots or a sturdy pair of joggers or trail running shoes, a hat, sunscreen, any personal medication you may need, a day pack (to carry your personal belongings as well as morning and afternoon tea that will be provided by WEA), waterproof jacket (incase of cold/ wet weather), at least 3 litres of water (remember this is a all day hike and we will be walking for quite a few hours). Don't forget a Opal card if you are catching the train.

What if I don’t have anyone to go with? No problem at all, there is always 2 Women Embrace Adventure hosts to make sure everyone is introduced to everyone before we set off. By the end of the Hike we are sure you would have found some new friends.
