About The Adventure
The local Worimi People knew the Stockton Peninsula as 'Burrinbingon' and lived on its magnificent sand dunes, feasting on the abundant sea life from the ocean and river. This Newcastle suburb has a fascinating industrial and maritime history, with significant buildings still dotting its laneways and a shipwreck on its breakwall.
The area is beautifully flat, and the changing scenery, from the breakwater to views across to Newcastle's CBD and along the banks of the Hunter River, making it ideal for our wander and lunch.
Stockton, just north of the Newcastle CBD, is only 2 km or five minutes by ferry, which crosses the harbour every 15 minutes. By car, it is approx a 20km drive around the harbour. We will meet near the ferry stop on the Stockton side to start our walk. After lunch, we'll make our way back to our starting point.
We hope you can join…
