About The Adventure

About the Hike: 

Join us as we walk from beautiful Patonga to Pearl Beach and back again - about a 9 km round trip. This walk explores a section of Brisbane Water National Park between the quaint villages of Patonga and Pearl Beach on the Central Coast of NSW.  We'll take in stunning ocean views in all directions on this moderate day walk through towering red gums and eucalypts. We'll pass sandstone caves with a natural hanging garden of native ferns and will take some time to stop and enjoy the spectacular Warrah Lookout with views across Palm Beach, Lion Island across the Hawkesbury River. Once back in Patonga, we'll have lunch (delicious pizza and a drink) together at the beautiful Boathouse Hotel. 


Date: Saturday 22nd May 2022

Meeting Time: 8:45 am for a 9:00 am start

Meeting Point: Patonga Beach, Central Coast, NSW. Details of the exact meeting point will be sent to you upon registration. 

Maximum Numbers: 14 plus your WEA guides

Grade of walk/hike: This walk is graded 3/4. The trail covers uneven ground, many uneven steps, with some steep inclines and declines, paved and fire trail walking. Click Walking track grading system to see more details about the grading system. 

Fitness Level: a moderate level of fitness is required 

Experience: no experience is needed

Length: the hike is approximately 9 km long and will take us approximately 3 hours

Cost: $90 includes your walk, lunch and a drink


  • National Parks Licencing Fees
  • Wilderness first aid qualified leader
  • Snacks (fruit and bars) to keep our energy up on the track 
  • Lunch and a glass of wine (beer or soft drink) at The Boathouse Hotel Patonga
  • Photos of your adventure will be posted on our Facebook event page for you

What do I need to bring?

-day pack (to carry your personal belongings)

-hiking boots, sturdy joggers or trail runners are needed


-sunscreen and sun-protective clothing

-bug spray

-any personal medications you may need (asthma puffer/epi-pen etc.)

-hiking poles (optional)

-waterproof jacket (in case of cold/ wet weather)

-an extra warm layer in case of cold/windy weather

-at least 2 litres of water (remember we will be walking for a few hours, and there are no water fill-up points along the way)

-leave an extra set of clothes in the car for afterwards in case we run into cold or wet weather on our walk

How fit do I need to be? This hike covers approx 9 km of moderate levels of terrain. You will need a moderate fitness level to join us on this walk. If you are not sure if you are fit enough for the walk, please get in touch with us at, and we will be happy to give you a call to discuss. 

This trail is not handicapped accessible, and pets are not allowed. 

Going Solo?  No problem at all; there are always two Women Embrace Adventure hosts to make sure everyone is introduced to everyone before we set off. By the end of the Hike, we are sure you will have made some new friends.​

Your booking is final once your payment is processed and a confirmation email is sent to you. No refunds will be given but can your booking can be changed to another lady over 18. Please email us at least 24 hours before the adventure and provide her contact details. This is an all-weather event. If Women Embrace Adventure cancels, a credit or full refund will be provided.

This is a women's only adventure. Valid for sale until sold out. Advertised prices are per person. Prices are correct as of 24th April 2022 and are subject to availability, withdrawal, and change without notice due to fluctuations in charges and currency.

All current government safety and health guidelines must be adhered to at the time of booking and departure, including all Covid-19 requirements. Any additional costs related to but not limited to government travel restrictions are the responsibility of the individual traveller and not Women Embrace Adventure. If this trip is undersubscribed or in circumstances where external events affect the viability or safety of this trip to go ahead, Women Embrace Adventure reserves the right to cancel or reschedule and to exclude/remove any participants from this trip. Your booking is non-transferable.
